8 dangers of focusing on your bad past
If you want progress in your salvation, and in your call to serve God, don’t ever look back at your bad past. One of the Devil‘s strategies is to immobilize your success by reminding you about your bad past. Your mind will always be looking at the past instead of focusing on your future. Below I give 8 dangers of focusing on your bad past.
- One of the Devil‘s strategies is to immobilize you by reminding you about your bad past.
- You cannot move forward if you are constantly looking behind.
- You may fall into a pit (dangers) if you walk with your face looking backwards.
- Looking at your bad past will hinder your focusing on your goals in life.
- Looking at your bad past will hinder your faith in God, who has given you a new life.
- Looking at your bad past will prevent you from becoming a new creature, for it is written:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!“
7. Focusing on your bad past will prevent you from seeing God’s precious promises for all believers.
8. Looking at your bad past may tear your healed wounds.
Always pray this prayer whenever the Devil reminds you about your bad past:
“Devil, you are a liar.
I no longer belong to my old past. I am now a new creation.
It is written that if anyone is in Christ, the new creature has come.
I bind you negative spirits and I cast you into the bottomless pit.
I cover myself with the Blood of Jesus.
Holy Spirit come and dwell within my body, spirit, and soul.
I pray in Jesus’s Name. Amen“
