How Satan disrupts dreams
God uses dreams to interact with you but Satan and demons are always working to hinder clear communication between God and you. In this post I show you how Satan disrupts dreams.
God uses dreams to communicate with you.
God speaks to you through dreams. Let me mention some of the prominent situations where God spoke directly to believers and non-believers on earth.
When, in the Book of Genesis, God saw that King Abimelek was about to sleep with a married woman, He warned this King in a dream:
“But God came to Abimelek in a dream one night and said to him, “You are as good as dead because of the woman you have taken; she is a married woman” (Genesis 20:3)
In the Book of Genesis God used a dream to tell the young boy Joseph what he will be in future.
‘He said to them, “Listen to this dream I had: We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it.” (Genesis 37:6-7)
When God wanted to bless King Solomon, He did it through a dream.
‘At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you” (1 Kings 3:5)
In the Book of Daniel God spoke to King Nebuchadnezzar but this king could not understand God’s language of dreams. It was his Jewish servant Daniel who was able to.
‘The king asked Daniel (also called Belteshazzar), “Are you able to tell me what I saw in my dream and interpret it?”
Daniel replied, “No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come” (Daniel 2:26-28)
How Satan disrupts dreams
Satan knows that God communicates with you in dreams. He does two things to interfere with this holy communication.
- Satan and demons can make you forget everything you have dreamed. You wake up and cannot remember anything God communicated to you.
- Satan and demons can create their own communication in your dreams. You wake up confused whether it was God or the Devil who was speaking to you.
How to counter Satanic influences on your dreams.
Always pray before you sleep asking God asking to protect your dreams from demonic influences. Put your spirit and soul into His hands and always cover yourself with the Blood of Jesus Christ.
