Why your crying to God may attract Demons!
I am very sensitive to evil spirits and I know when they are attacking during day when I am awake and at night when I am sleeping. I sense them or God reveals them to me in visions or in dreams. One night I had such a dream that clearly showed me that our home was under attack.
In this dream I saw myself standing in the front yard of our house. Then I saw about ten shabbily dressed old women in traditional costume, standing within our front yard. Some were carrying children on their backs while others carried old luggage on their heads. As I wondered which type of visitors these were, some-without my permission- started heading into our guest house – as if to start sleeping there! In this dream I angrily asked them: “Who are you? What do you want here? and who opened for you the gate into our compound?” They arrogantly answered only the last question by saying: “Your wife opened for us”. Then I woke up from this dream.
I sat for about twenty minutes analyzing and wondering what this dream meant. I realized that these were demons which had invaded our house. Someone must have spiritually opened a door for them. Later the Holy Spirit revealed to me that the previous day, my wife actually did something that opened doors to these demons.
I did not tell my wife what I had dream’t.
In the morning, while we were discussing family matters, my wife told me that the previous day she spent about two hours in our prayer room crying to God about a certain personal issue. She spent these two hours in tears asking God why He has taken long to bring an answer. At this very moment I remembered the dream and I realized that sometimes crying and arguing with God may actually open doors to demons for the following reasons:
- Crying and tears show that you no longer have faith in God’s promises and ability. And this is what the Bible says about such a situation:
“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind” James 1:6
“Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
- By doubting God you are only pleasing the Devil and you would be opening doors for demons to attack you. The Devil takes pleasure in those who doubt God’s promises:
“But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” Hebrews 10:38
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” Hebrews 11:6
- When you doubt God’s promises and abilities, you slowly turn into a non-believer. Here is what the Word of God says about nonbelievers:
“See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God” Hebrews 3:12
“But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” Rev. 21:8
Conclusion: Instead of crying and shedding tears before God, be bold to face our Father quoting the promises He has made to you through His Scriptures. Believe that our God dearly loves you (for He sent his only begotten Son to die for you) and that nothing is impossible for Him to do.
