You have no secret place!
Some Christians perform sinful acts believing they are alone in hiding. They think that no one is watching them. I can now confidently inform you that you have no secret place on earth where you can hide for the following reasons.
1. God is watching you.
“My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor is their sin concealed from my eyes.” Jeremiah 16:17
2. God’s holy Angels are watching you.
God assigned these angels to help you always. They are there in your hiding place. Now they are wondering why you are engaged in a sinful act. They are grieved in their hearts.
“For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.” Psalm 91:11-12
3. Jesus is watching you.
Jesus is there in your hiding place because committed himself to be with you always. He is wondering why you are doing such a sinful act.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Mathew 28:19-20
4. The Holy Spirit is watching you.
The Holy Spirit is watching you. He is asking: I wish this person knows I am here!
“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?”
5. The spirits of God’s prophets are watching you.
The servant Gehazi was alone doing a sinful act thinking no one was watching him. After the act he went to prophet Elisha who angrily reacted as follows:
“When he went in and stood before his master, Elisha asked him, “Where have you been, Gehazi?”
“Your servant didn’t go anywhere,” Gehazi answered.
26 But Elisha said to him, “Was not my spirit with you when the man got down from his chariot to meet you? Is this the time to take money or to accept clothes—or olive groves and vineyards, or flocks and herds, or male and female slaves? 27 Naaman’s leprosy will cling to you and to your descendants forever.” Then Gehazi went from Elisha’s presence and his skin was leprous—it had become as white as snow.” 2 Kings 5:25-27
