Provocation by another person will open doors for demons to enter your life. Therefore, silence is the best way of handling any provocation.
God will consider you wise if you keep silent.
First, since provocation can be dangerous for your life, our Heavenly Father will consider you wise and discerning if you restrain yourself and keep silent.
Listen to what the written word of God in the Bible says:
The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint, and whoever has understanding is even-tempered. 28 Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.
Anger and shouting will drive demons into your life.
Second, if you respond to provocation with anger and shouting, doors will open and Satan will drive many demons into your life. These demons include curses, sickness, poverty, shame and stagnation.
Silence and restraint will give you victory.
Therefore, if you want victory, there’s no need to shout in response to provocation. Silence and restraint will give you all the victory you need.
This is exactly what the Israelites did when they were attacked by the mighty army from the kingdom of Assyria (see 2 Kings chapter 18). Sennacherib, the supreme commander of the Assyrian army, provoked the king of Israel and his subjects with a lot of provocative and threatening words. However, despite the provocation, the Isralites kept silent and never said any word.
Listen to what the written word of God in the Bible says:
36 But the people remained silent and said nothing in reply, because the king had commanded, “Do not answer him.”
2 Kings 18:36
God gave victory to the silent people.
Because the Isralites had kept silent, that night the angel of the Lord went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the Assyrian camp.
When the people got up the next morning—there were all the dead bodies! So Sennacherib king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh and stayed there.
