Dear reader, here is a weapon the devil has used to immobilize and paralyse millions of God’s people. Discouragement is Satan’s number one weapon against Christians.

I was frozen during the gospel music show.

First, let me start with this personal testimony. When I was a university student, I never knew Jesus Christ, although I felt God’s hand was on my life. Then, one weekend, an international Christian gospel group from Europe called Silverwind performed at our university. I was touched by many of the songs they sang and was ready to surrender my life to Jesus Christ.

When the lead singer invited the students who wanted to receive Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives, I was ready to rush to the stage. Then suddenly I heard a voice coming from nowhere telling me this:

Your classmates will make fun of you. Don’t go on stage!

As a result, I never received Jesus Christ in my life during that concert. You can see how Satan’s spirit of discouragement immobilized me.

Most Christians live in a state of immobility.

In fact, Heavenly Father has great plans for all Christians. However, most of them cannot rise above a certain level of success due to constant discouragement from Satan and demons. As a result, many live like beggars while others cannot live up to the promises God has made to them.

Most Christians live in a state of immobility.

Jesus Christ rejected Satan’s spirit of discouragement.

As Jesus prepared to lay his life on the cross, Satan never wanted the world to be set free. Therefore, the devil spoke these discouraging words to Jesus Christ:

Do you really want to bear that cup of death?

Consequently, our Lord Jesus Christ felt like being immobilized and discouraged.

Jesus Christ felt like being immobilized and discouraged.

Soon, Jesus prayed like this to our Heavenly Father:

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”

Luke 22:42

And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.[c]

Finally, Jesus was able to overcome Satan’s spirit of discouragement, and he willingly gave his life for the salvation of all souls in the world.

The spirit of discouragement will destroy your faith.

Furthermore, by using the spirit of discouragement, Satan’s goal is to destroy your faith. The devil knows that without faith it is impossible for any Christian to please God (see Hebrews 11:6).

Reject Satan’s spirit of discouragement.

In conclusion, if you want to attain the life and plans God has prepared for you, you must always reject Satan’s spirit of discouragement. When you do this, supernatural miracles will begin to happen in your life and God will use you mightily to promote His Kingdom on earth.

The weapon to stop Satan is actually found in Luke 11:4
