I remember a car accident near my home in which a boy was hit and died. In this article, I show you how this boy came back to life!
The junction of accidents.
I once lived near a busy intersection that was always a problem for drivers. This intersection had no traffic lights, yet it was located at a point where one of the streets descended from a steep slope. Due to the steep slope, some drivers were unable to control their vehicles, causing accidents.
The morning of death.
One morning, as I was getting ready for work, we heard a loud bang at this intersection. This bang was followed by screams and a commotion. Wanting to know what had caused this loud noise, I asked my housekeeper to go to the intersection and see what had happened. She came back with bad news: two vehicles had collided and a little boy walking to school had been killed!
“Pray for that boy” said the Lord.
So, I immediately ran to the scene of the accident and found a group of sad speechless people with their arms crossed surrounding the small lifeless body. Poor boy! Mom and Dad probably don’t know what happened to their little son!
Then, suddenly I heard the voice of the Lord speaking to me. This voice was like a thought, but this was not an ordinary thought.
The Lord said:
Place your hand on that boy and pray for him.
However, eventhough I was sure that this was the Lord’s voice, deep within my heart I rejected this instruction. I said within my heart like this:
Lord, look at all these people. What will they think when they see me laying my hand on a lifeless body?
“Pray for the boy” the Lord repeated.
While I was still hesitating, I heard the same voice say to me again:
Place your hand on the boy and pray!
This time I was sure it was the voice of the Lord, and that He was serious in his instructions. So, I acted as if no one was around and obeyed without delay. I placed my right hand on the boy’s head and commanded the spirit of death to leave, in the name of Jesus Christ.
The boy came back to life.
Suddenly, I heard the boy take a deep breath. The breath lasted almost 10 seconds and sounded like fresh air rushing into his already deflated lungs. It was as if the Lord had breathed into the nostrils the breath of life, and the boy became a living being again (see Genesis 2:7).
Then, to everyone’s amazement, the boy opened his eyes wide, his expression astonished, as if wondering what had happened. We immediately took him to the nearest clinic for medical attention. Fortunately, he survived.
From this experience I learned that it is better to obey the Lord than to be afraid of people.
