Dear reader, if you have been truly called by God to serve Him in His Kingdom and you sin willfully, then await His punishment. This article presents 6 ways God punishes His sinful ministers.
God will not let you go unpunished.
First of all, if you are a true servant of God, and you willifuly sin, never think that you will go away unpunished by God.
Listen to what God says in Jeremiah 30:11:
But I will correct you in justice,
And will not let you go altogether unpunished.
Jeremiah 30:11
1. God can punish you with accidents.
First, if you were truly called to serve God, and you willfully sin, then God can punish you with accidents. Pople will wonder why you have been involved in an accident, but in your heart you will know that you have sinned against God.
2. Stopping your prosperity.
Second, if you are a true minister of God, and you willifully sin against Him, then God can stop your propsperity. This is exactly what happened to Adam.
Listen to how God judged Adam:
17 And he said to the man, “You listened to your wife and ate the fruit which I told you not to eat. Because of what you have done, the ground will be under a curse. You will have to work hard all your life to make it produce enough food for you.
Third, Heavenly Father can withdraw His favour and protection from you. This is exactly what happened to Samson.
4. God can allow your enemies to rise up against you.
Furthermore, if you have been truly called by God to serve Him in His Kingdom and you sin willfully, God can allow your enemies to rise up against you. This is exactly what happened when King David fornicated with Bathsheba.
5. God can cause shame to fall upon you.
Also, if you have been called to serve God and you willifully sin against Him, then He can cause shame to fall upon you. This is exactly what befell upon Noah when he got drunk and remained naked (see Genesis 9:20-23).
6. God can expose you publicly.
Additionaly, if you fail to listen to all God’s warnings, He may expose you publicly for the whole world to know. This is the exact judgement that befell King David.
Listen to what God told David:
11 “This is what the Lord says: ‘Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity on you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight. 12 You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.’”
2 Samuel 12:11-12
