This is how God speaks to you using your thoughts.
God speaks by putting his own thoughts into your mind. This is how God always speaks to me. Because he has been doing this for a long time, I have learned to differentiate God’s thoughts from my own.
How God saved my children from a poisonous snake.
When my children were still young, they usually placed a mat on the green lawn in front of our house to play. After breakfast, my kids would always rush to this rug to start playing. One night a poisonous snake came into our complex and hid unnoticed under this rug.
In the morning, no one saw this snake under the mat except Heavenly Father. Early in the morning, my family and I were at the breakfast table and my children were about to rush to their play mat. If they sat on the mat, they would disturb that snake underneath, and it would retaliate by biting them.
How God saved my children.
While my I and my family were sitting around the breakfast table, a strange thought came to my mind asking me to immediately leave and head towards the front yard.
At first I thought it was funny; why should I leave my pleasant breakfast so hastily? So, I ignored the thought as I raised my cup of tea. Just before putting the cup of tea to my mouth, I had the same thought again. The thought said,
Put down the cup and head to the front yard.
This time I confirmed it was a thought from God. I put down the cup of tea and walked towards the lawn in front of our house. My family was surprised that I had to leave the table in a hurry.
When I reached the lawn, I stood there, not knowing what to do. Then suddenly another strange thought came to my mind. This thought said:
It is always my children who clean this compound. Today I’m going to surprise them. After their breakfast, they will find the whole lawn well cleaned.
It was the voice of God speaking in my spirit.
I discovered the snake.
I picked up a broom and stood still, wondering where to start cleaning. Then suddenly another strange thought came to my mind. The thought said,
I’m going to start this cleaning by removing this mat.
So, following that thought, I walked over to where the mat was and lifted it up. I was terrified when I saw underneath the mat a venomous black snake uncoil and raise its head. I immediately called my wife and we killed this snake before it bit anyone.
Dear reader, you can see how God spoke to me and how my obedience to His voice saved my children from this poisonous snake.
God always speaks to people through their thoughts, even though it can sometimes be difficult to recognize His voice.
