Our Lord Jesus Christ gave us instructions on how we should pray always. Unfortunately, many Christians are not following Jesus’ instructions. They do not ask our Father in Heaven not to lead them into temptation. In this post, I want to show you that silence about this request means yes to God. You are implying that yes, you can lead me into temptation.

Satan frequently goes before God.

Three Scriptures prove this fact:

  1. Luke 22:31-32:

Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.

2. Job 1:6

One day the angels[a] came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan[b] also came with them.

3. Job 2:1:

On another day the angels[a] came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them to present himself before him.

Satan continually accuses Christians before God.

Two Scriptures prove this fact:

  1. Job 1:9-10

Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied.  “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.

2. Revelation 12:10

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:

“Now have come the salvation and the power
and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Messiah.
For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
    has been hurled down.

God continually permits Satan to tempt Christians.

Two Scriptures prove this fact:

1. Job 1:12

The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.”

Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.

2. Job 2:6-7

The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life.”

So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head.

God permitted Satan to tempt Jesus.

And it is God himself who led Jesus to the Devil to be tempted.

Mathew 4:1 proves this fact:

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil.

Since God led our Lord Jesus into temptation, He can also lead us to the Devil.

Jesus advice and instruction to us.

Our Lord Jesus Christ instructed us to plead to God always that He does not lead us into temptation.

He said this:

  Forgive us our sins,
for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.[a]
And lead us not into temptation.[b]

   Luke 11:4

If you do not ask our Father in Heaven not to lead you into temptation, then you are saying ‘YES you can lead into temptation

God will go ahead to give Satan permission to put you under all kinds of temptations and trials.

However, if you ask Heavenly Father not to lead you into temptation, God will prevent Satan from tempting you.

Always ask God not to lead you into temptation.
