Dear reader, many Christians still do not understand why they are suffering even though they are faithful to God and live holy and blameless lives.
Job asked himself the same question.
To begin, such Christians are not alone. Job suffered more than any other Christian, yet he lived a holy life and was always faithful to God. Listen to what the written word of God in the Bible says:
This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.
Job 1:1
Satan is the cause of most suffering.
First, many Christians today are not aware that their suffering is caused by Satan. They think it is God causing them all the troubles. If you read the book of Job, you realise that Satan caused all Job’s troubles, but Job was not aware of this fact.
Satan can talk to God.
Second, many Christians today are not aware that Satan can go into God’s heavenly presence as mentioned in Job 1:6 and Job 2:1. I have heard many pastors telling their followers to reject this truth reasoning that evil cannot go near God. When you reject the truth presented in Job 1:6 and Job 2:1, be prepared to face many hardships in your life.
Satan is accusing Christians day and night.
Third, many Christians today are not aware that Satan is accusing them before God as indicated in Job 1:9-10. Satan accused Job before God as a way of securing permission from God to go and tempt Job. Today Satan accuses Christians day and night before God in heaven. God told me that Revelation 12:10 confirms this truth.
Heavenly Father can give Satan permission to bring hardships to any Christian.
Additionally, many Christians are not aware that God can grant Satan permission to come and bring hardships in their life. When Jesus came on earth he revealed this truth to Simon and other disciples by telling them that:
“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
Luke 22:31-32
God can lead any Christian to the devil to be tempted.
Also, when Satan secures permission from God to tempt us, our Father in Heaven can actually lead us to the Devil to be tempted. This happened in the case of our Lord Jesus Christ himself.
Listen to what the Bible says:
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil.
Mathew 4:1
Jesus Christ has given Christians a weapon against Satan.
Like Job, many Christians today, do not know how to pray regarding their suffering. When Jesus Christ came on earth, he gave us instructions on how to pray to avoid the suffering Job faced.
Jesus instructed us always to plead to God as follows:
Do not lead us into temptation.
Luke 11:4
In conclusion, to avoid what Job went through and to avoid any suffering, always plead to our Father in Heaven not to lead you into temptation. When we do this, God will not give Satan permission to come and tempt us.
