Dear reader, keeping away  from sin is a powerful weapon in spiritual warfare. In fact, holiness drives away Satan and demons.

Our Heavenly Father is holy.

To begin with, our Heavenly Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are all holy. In fact, even the places where they sit are always holy.

Listen to what God’s written word says about this:

15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”[a]

1 Peter 1:15-16

What is holiness?

Second, we need to define what holiness is.  Holiness involves cleansing the heart from sin and unrighteousness, preparing it to receive God’s purity and power.  Approaching God with reverence and respect for His holiness is a way to invite His presence, creating a suitable environment for fellowship.

Holiness acts as an entry point to a deeper, more tangible experience of God, fostering a closer connection and relationship. God is holy, therefore, living a life of holiness aligns a person with God’s divine nature, making them more compatible and receptive to Him.

Holiness invites God’s presence.

Therefore, when you choose to turn away from sin, you invite the presence of our Heavenly Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. In fact, your holiness will attract the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven to your place. This implies that even God’s angels will come where you are located.

Holiness drives away Satan and demons.

On the contrary, since holiness invites God’s Kingdom, the kingdom of Satan will be driven away. Satan and demons will be forced to flee.

Therefore, it is better to be holy and invite the presence of God, rather than to remain in sin which attracts Satan and demons.

The weapon to stop Satan is actually found in Luke 11:4
