Five personal sacrifices that will greatly boost your prayer power.

Dear reader, do you feel that your prayers have no impact? Here are five personal sacrifices that will greatly boost your prayer power.

Sacrifice your sleep.

First, if you sacrifice your sleep for prayer, all heaven will notice and pay attention. Our Heavenly Father, our  Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and God’s angels will all stretch their hands to strengthen you and to answer your prayers. The prayers of our Lord Jesus Christ were always powerful because he always sacrificed sleep for prayer. He always woke up to pray when most people were sleeping.

Listen to what God’s word in the Bible says:

35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

Mark 1:35

Sacrifice eating.

Second, you can sacrifice your eating for the sake of prayer. Fasting enhances the power of prayer by humbling the soul, mastering physical distractions, and sharpening spiritual focus, which fully aligns your heart with God’s. Furthermore, prayer and fasting, when combined, help overcome obstacles. As our Lord Jesus Christ said (Mark 9:29) some stubborn obstacles can only be overcome through prayer and fasting.

Sacrifice leisure.

Third, you can forgo leisure activities to deepen your prayer life. This is precisely what Daniel did. To strengthen his prayer life, he renounced the simple pleasures of the delicious meals prepared in the king’s palace.

You can sacrifice your comfort.

Fourth, you can sacrifice your comfort for prayer. Your prayer will be greatly powerful if you forgo your usual comforts and pray in uncomfortable places. This is one of the reasons why our Lord Jesus Christ left comfort to pray in solitude and discomfort.

Sacrifice your precious time.

Finally, do you have any precious time in your daily schedule? Heaven will notice when you sacrifice such time for prayer. Consequently, you will enjoy the fruits of this sacrifice.

The weapon to stop Satan is actually found in Luke 11:4
