Forgiving is so difficult that no one can forgive out of their own free will. In fact, only Jesus Christ can help you forgive.
Unforgiveness is a giant demon.
First, most people don’t know that unforgiveness is an evil spirit. In reality, unforgiveness is a giant demon that lives in the bodies of people who refuse to forgive. The truth is that most people refuse to forgive because of this giant demon.
Saying “I forgive you” is not enough.
Second, we must understand that forgiving is not something we do superficially. We cannot forgive someone by simply saying, “I forgive you.” Forgiveness goes deeper than that, because it involves dislodging the giant demon of unforgiveness from your body, mind, and soul.
Only Jesus Christ can cast the demon of unforgiveness out of a person’s life.
Meanwhile, the only person who can help you dislodge the demon of unforgiveness from your body, mind, and soul is actually our Lord Jesus Christ.
Why Jesus Christ? Because our Heavenly Father has put the name of Jesus above all other names as stated in Philippians 2:9-11:
Therefore God exalted him [Jesus Christ] to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Invite Jesus Christ into your heart.
Therefore, the first step to forgive someone is to invite Jesus Christ to come and dwell within your heart. When Jesus Christ starts dwelling within you, then no evl spirit can dare live in your body, except if you sin against God.
Bind the spirit of unforgivess and cast it out of your body.
After you receive Jesus as Lord of your life, the next step is to bind and cast out the demon of unforgiveness that lives in your body. After you cast out this demon from your body, you will feel at peace and be able to honestly forgive all those who have hurt you.
