Dear reader, some people become lax after receiving Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. They become lukewarm and gradually return to their old worldly ways. This article encourages all Christians to cling to Jesus daily until they pass from this earth to heaven.

Salvation is a long journey.

When you become saved or call it born again, you die to yourself daily to keep yourself in a pure state that will allow you to enter Heaven every time death comes. The devil will fight you to make you lose your hold on Jesus. Instead of holding on to Jesus, some Christians hold on to the day they were saved.

Inerestingly, these Christians remember very well the year, month, day and hour they were saved. Also, they can even tell you which way the wind was blowing. They forget that because of Satan and demonic attacks, salvation is a daily experience. You must renew your salvation daily through prayer, repentance and asking God to bring you through the devil’s traps.

Jesus confirmed that salvation is a daily experience.

When you read the Lord’s Prayer, you will see that Jesus himself wants us to take salvation as a daily experience by praying daily as follows.

  1. Forgive us our sins as we have forgiven those who have done us wrong”. Jesus knew that we would need to repent of our sins on a daily basis. This is contrary to what some Christians believe that “Once saved, Always saved”
  2. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from all evil”. Jesus knew that we would need God’s help on a daily basis to prevent trials and temptations in our lives.

Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.

Luke 9:23
