Dear reader, our Heavenly Father calls all women to serve him. This article presents seven Bible verses inviting women to preach the word of God.
Christianinty started in a region where women are marginalized.
First, we must realize that Christianity began in the Middle East, where women are generally marginalized. It is for this reason that some disciples of Jesus Christ were against women preachers and pastors. However, as noted below, the Bible contains many examples where God calls women to serve him.
There is neither male nor female in Jesus Christ.
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:27-28 King James Version
God looks at someones heart, not their body.
The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.
Both men and women can preach.
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
1 Peter 4:10
There is nothing a woman cannot do in God’s Kingdom.
I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:13
Jesus gave some women the gift of preaching.
But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.
Ephesians 4:7,11, &12
Both men and women have roles in promoting God’s Kingdom.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
God can choose a man or a woman.
What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! 15 For he says to Moses,
“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”[a]
