The Danger of Causing Another Christian to Sin.
Dear reader, one of the most serious crimes a Christian can commit in the Kingdom of God is to cause another believer to fall away from Jesus Christ. This sin can only be compared to murder, because the fallen believer can spend all of eternity in hell.
A severe judgment from God.
Any Christian who causes another to sin will be judged severely by God. That person will go to the hottest spot in hell.
God judged the serpent severely.
Originally, the serpent was a very faithful animal. As He does with many Christians today, God loved the serpent. But when it entertained Satan’s thoughts and caused Eve, God’s child, to sin, He cursed the serpent. Listen to what happened:
14 So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this,
“Cursed are you above all livestock
and all wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly
and you will eat dust
all the days of your life.
15 And I will put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring[a] and hers;
he will crush[b] your head,
and you will strike his heel.”
Genesis 3:14-15
This is how God judges any Christian who entertains Satan’s thoughts to bring down another believer in Jesus Christ.
Fornication.
If you are a Christian and you fornicate with another believer in Christ, prepare yourself for severe condemnation and punishment from God.
Telling lies.
When you are a believer and you make another believer lie, then prepare yourself for the hottest part of hell.
Oppressing another Christian.
If you are a Christian and you oppress another believer to the point that he or she loses faith in Jesus, then prepare yourself for hell.
Your star will fade.
Every time a Christian leads an unbeliever to Jesus, his or her star shines brighter. But if you are a Christian and you lead another believer away from Jesus, your star will fade.
It is worse for children.
God’s punishment becomes worse when a Christian leads a child to sin. Listen to what Jesus said about causing children to lose their faith in God and Jesus:
6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
