10 things a wise person does.
Many people in this world say they are wise. But most of those who confess to be are betrayed by their actions. Below I give 10 things a wise person does.
- A wise person puts all his trust in God.
“Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. 7 And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].” Philippians 4:6-7
2. A wise person accepts Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Savior.
“For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” Romans 5:10-11
3. A wise person does not talk too much.
“When there are many words,
transgression and offense are unavoidable,
But he who controls his lips and keeps thoughtful silence is wise.” Proverbs 10:19 AMP
4. A wise person is not easily annoyed.
“He who is slow to anger,
has great understanding [and profits from his self-control],
But he who is quick-tempered exposes and exalts his foolishness [for all to see]” Proverbs 14:29
5. Stays more focused on heavenly things.
6. Pursues righteousness.
“But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after)
His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God],
and all these things will be given to you also.” Mathew 6:33 AMP
7. Does not make friends with evil doers.
“Leave me, you evildoers,
That I may keep the commandments of my God [honoring and obeying them].” Psalm 119:115 AMP
8. A wise person remains humble.
“When pride comes [boiling up with an arrogant attitude of self-importance],
then come dishonor and shame,
But with the humble [the teachable who have been chiseled by trial and who have learned to walk humbly with God]
there is wisdom and soundness of mind.” Proverbs 11:2 AMP
9. A wise person avoids quarrels, disputes and wars.
10. A wise person invests part of his wealth in God’s Kingdom.
