Our Father in Heaven has given you spiritual power through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Therefore, Satan and demons are always devising ways to extinguish that divine power within you. One of the ways is by contaminating the food you eat.

Satan can defile the food you eat using individuals who produce it on the farm, those who process it, those who transport it to the markets, and those who cook it before you eat.  In addition, there are other reasons why we should always pray for food. This article presents  seven reasons to pray before you eat

Thanking God, the provider of our food.

We pray to God every day to give us our daily bread. Therefore, it is necessary to thank God for the food he provides us.

Jesus always prayed and gave thanks before eating.

11 Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.

                                     John 6:11-14

When you pray for food, all evil spirits flee.

Sometimes demons and humans put curses on food. The result is cursed food that may cause sickness. Your prayer will drive away all the curses.

Your prayer will sanctify the food.

Additionally, your prayer sanctifies the food you are about to eat.

Your prayer will neutralize any poison that may be in the food.

In 2 Kings 2:19-22  Elisha prayed for poisoned water and it became pure and safe for drinking:

The people of the city said to Elisha, “Look, our lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive.”

20 “Bring me a new bowl,” he said, “and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him.

21 Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the Lord says: ‘I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.’” 22 And the water has remained pure to this day, according to the word Elisha had spoken.

You honor Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

By thanking God for the food, you are honoring our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

By thanking God, you are encouraging Him to bless you with more food.

When you bless the food and thank God, Heavenly Father is encouraged to bless your food store.
