Dear reader, you cannot overcome your enemy if you do not know his weakness. Samson always defeated his enemies until they got to know his weakness. They used this weak link in his life to take away God’s anointing on his life and to defeat him. In this post I want to show you Satan’s greatest weakness which you can use to defeat him.
What is the Devil’s greatest weakness?
Satan’s major weakness is that he cannot tempt a believer unless he first gets permission from our Father in Heaven.
How did I know this weakness?
About 20 years ago, as I was seeking the Lord by reading His Word in the Bible, the Lord revealed himself to me in a supernatural vision. He showed me this weakness.
Satan has to get permission first.
Satan’s major weakness is that he cannot tempt any Christian without first getting permission from God.
Can Satan actually go to God to seek His permission?
Satan continually goes into God’s heavenly presence to ask for permission to tempt believers. In this vision the Lord gave me three Scriptures to prove this:
Proof 1: Luke 22:31-32
Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat.
But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail.
And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.
In this Scripture Jesus was warning his disciples that he had seen Satan asking God for permission to tempt them (the disciples). God had already permitted the Devil. Jesus prayed that they are not tempted beyond their abilities.
Proof 2: Job 1:6
One day the angels[a] came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan[b] also came with them.
In Job 1:6 Satan went into God’s heaven presence to present himself before God.
Proof 3: Job 2:1
On another day the angels[a] came to present themselves before the Lord,
and Satan also came with them to present himself before him.
The Scripture above confirms that Satan continually goes into God’s heavenly presence.
Why does Satan continually go into God’s heavenly presence?
The Devil continually goes into God’s presence to make accusations against believers so that he gets permission to tempt them. The Lord gave me two Scriptures to prove that Satan continually accuses Christians before God.
Proof 1: Job 1:9-10
Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. 10 “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.
Proof 2: Revelation 12:10
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
“Now have come the salvation and the power
and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Messiah.
For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down.
The Lord informed me that Satan will continue accusing Christians before God until the prophecy in Revelation 12:10 is fulfilled.
Can our Father in Heaven permit Satan to tempt us?
Yes, if we do not pray as Jesus instructed us, our Father will permit Satan to tempt us. Two Scriptures prove this fact:
Proof 1: Job 1:12
The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power,
but on the man himself do not lay a finger.”
Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
Proof 2: Job 2:6
The Lord said to Satan,
“Very well, then, he is in your hands;
but you must spare his life.
These two Scriptures prove that Satan continually gets God’s permission to tempt Christians.
Can God actually lead us into temptation (can He lead us to the Devil to be tempted)?
Yes, when Satan is given permission by our Father, God can lead us into temptation as He led Jesus to the Devil to be tempted. The Lord gave me a Scripture to prove this. Satan asked for permission to tempt Jesus and God granted the Devil that permission. In the case of Jesus, it was actually our Father who led Jesus to the Devil to be tempted.
The Lord gave me Mathew 4:1 to prove this:
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil.
What are we supposed to do to prevent the Devil from putting us under his temptations and trials?
Jesus instructed us always, every day, to plead with our Father in Heaven not to Lead us into temptation. In other wards, not to take us to the Devil to be tempted.
Our Father’s assurance
The Lord assured me that if any Christian pleads with Him not to lead him or her into temptation. He will deny Satan permission, and our Father will not lead him or her to the Devil to be tempted.
