Dear reader, Job was a blameless man before God and Heavenly Father loved him more than any other person on earth. So, why did he suffer?
Job asked himself the same question.
To begin, Job lived a holy life before God so he was asking himself why he was suffering. Listen to what the written word of God in the Bible says:
This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.
Job 1:1
Satan was the cause of Job’s suffering.
First, Job was not aware that his suffering was caused by Satan. He thought that God caused all his troubles. If you read the book of Job, you realise that Job never referred to Satan as the causer of his suffering.
Job was hot aware that Satan was talking to God.
Second, Job was not aware that Satan had gone into God’s heavenly presence as mentioned in Job 1:6 and Job 2:1.
Satan was accusing Job before God.
Third, Job was not aware that Satan was accusing him before God as indicated in Job 1:9-10. Satan accused Job before God as a way of securing permission from God to go and tempt Job.
Heavenly Father gave Satan permission to bring hardships to Job.
Additionally, many Job was not aware that God had givent Satan permission to come and bring hardships in his life. God is still giving Satan permission to come and test Christians as indicated in Luke 22:31-32:
“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
Luke 22:31-32
God can lead any Christian to the devil to be tempted.
Also, when Satan secures permission from God to tempt us, our Father in Heaven can actually lead us to the Devil to be tempted. This happened in the case of our Lord Jesus Christ himself.
Listen to what the Bible says:
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil.
Mathew 4:1
Jesus Christ has given Christians a weapon against Satan.
Like Job, many Christians today, do not know how to pray regarding their suffering. When Jesus Christ came on earth, he gave us instructions on how to pray to avoid the suffering Job faced.
Jesus instructed us always to plead to God as follows:
Do not lead us into temptation.
Luke 11:4
In conclusion, to avoid what Job went through and to avoid any suffering, always plead to our Father in Heaven not to lead you into temptation. When we do this, God will not give Satan permission to come and tempt us.
