Dear reader, the Lord’s loyal kindness[a] never ceases;[b] and his compassions[c] never end. This Bible verse miraculously restored my job!
How I Lost My Job
To begin, for many years I served God while also holding secular jobs. These jobs helped support my family and cover the expenses of my ministry. I recall once having a well-paying job as a senior administrator at an international health research organization. This job helped support my family and cover all the expenses of my ministry.
Then, one morning, my boss called me into his office and gave me some bad news. He informed me that the organization’s steering committee had recently met and realized that my position required someone with better academic qualifications than I had. Therefore, the committee had decided to declare my position vacant, and it would be advertised in the newspapers.
God showed me a strange Bible verse.
As you can imagine, I was devastated by the news. Consequently, I was restless all night until I decided to bring this matter to our Heavenly Father in prayer.
After praying, I opened my Bible at random, and something strange happened. The page I opened was Mark, chapter twelve. Suddenly, verses 11 and 12 leapt off the page like a beautiful butterfly and flew into my eyes!
This Bible verse said:
10 Have you not even read this Scripture:
‘The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone.
11 This was the Lord’s doing,
And it is marvelous in our eyes’?”
None of the candidates interviewed were hired!
Later, the organization placed my job ad in three major national newspapers, and seven candidates were shortlisted for interviews.
However, none of the top three candidates interviewed were hired for one reason or another. For example, the top candidate was highly qualified and a good fit for the position, but she asked for a very high salary.
The other two also had their drawbacks. Ultimately, the organization abandoned the selection process.
I got my job back, just as the Bible verse foretold.
A few days after the failed selection process, my boss called me into his office. He informed me that the board of directors had met and decided to keep me in my position as senior manager. At that moment, I remembered the Bible verse God had given me. It accurately predicted my reinstatement!
