Dear reader, are you aspiring to hear God speaking to you directly? Then the first thing you have to take out of your lifestyle is taking anything alcoholic. Alcoholic drinks will distort your thoughts and God‘s voice in your mind.
How does God’s voice sound like?
God speaks mostly by putting his thoughts in your mind (or what others call your heart). This is why of all your body functions, God needs your mind most (Read: God needs your mind most).
In order to promote his Kingdom on Earth, God needs individuals with clear minds where he can put his thoughts to be implemented by those persons.
If God puts his thoughts in your mind, and you implement them on earth, then you have heard his voice and the Bible calls you a person who is after God’s own heart; which means that you do what is on God’s mind (1 Samuel 13:14).
Alcohol distorts thoughts from God.
When you take anything alcoholic, it will distort the thoughts God has put in your mind. You will not be able to hear these thoughts from Heaven. It will then be very difficult to do what God wants you to do.
Alcoholic drinks invite Satan’s thoughts.
Satan is always fighting God’s purposes. When you take anything alcoholic, the Devil will use that opportunity to replace God’s thoughts with his evil ideas. When this happens, then whatever you do will be promoting Satan‘s Kingdom, instead of God’s.
God needs your mind free of alcoholic drinks.
When you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you become a minister of God. Our Father in Heaven uses you to expand his Kingdom on earth. You become a person who is dedicated to God 24 hours a day thorough all the seven days of the week. In other words, you become a Nazirite. Because God always wants to speak to you through your mind, this is what He is telling you:
Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘If a man or woman wants to make a special vow, a vow of dedication to the Lord as a Nazirite, 3 they must abstain from wine and other fermented drink and must not drink vinegar made from wine or other fermented drink. They must not drink grape juice or eat grapes or raisins. 4 As long as they remain under their Nazirite vow, they must not eat anything that comes from the grapevine, not even the seeds or skins.

What happened to me.
Dear reader, this is what happened to me in relation to what I am telling you. God usually wakes me up at particular hours to do his work, and to give me messages he wants to pass on to the world. One time I had an allergic body reaction and a pharmacist gave me tablets that I never knew would make me oversleep (as a side-effect).
Due to extended sleep, I failed to wake up as usual to hear God‘s voice. During this sleep I got a dream that made me regret a lot why I had taken this medication.
In this dream I saw at a long distance a meeting that was full of bright light, heavenly worship, and God’s glory. My conscience was telling me I had to rush and attend that heavenly event. I tried running to join that meeting but I failed because I was so weak. The best I could do was to walk at a very slow pace. By the time I reached the venue, the glorious meeting was over. All people who were in this meeting were very happy and shining with God‘s glory. They told me:
Makko, the Lord sent someone to wake you up so that you come and join us, but you failed waking up! The Lord has just left now, yet he had some beautiful words for you.
After hearing these words, I woke up from the dream!
It was just a dream, but I felt a lot of regret for not attending this divine meeting.
From this incident I vowed never to take any medication or anything that makes me oversleep. This is what alcoholic drinks do. They disturb your mind, make you drowsy, oversleep, and you fail to hear God’s angels waking you up to enable God talk to you personally.
