Dear reader, have you ever found yourself in situations where you desperately need the sudden presence of God? If your answer is yes, then I would like to share with you this extraordinary experience that happened to me during a Sunday church service.
Here is what happened to me.
I was sitting with my wife in the middle of a church congregation when I felt unaffected by what was happening. I desperately needed God’s presence to improve my church experience.
I took my mind to heaven.
What I did was to remove my mind from what was happening in the churchservice. I closed my eyes and in this state I could no longer see my wife and the entire church congregation. While I was in this state I brought my mind’s attention to Heaven.
You may not believe it, but God has given you the ability to imagine yourself in any holy situation. In my case, I imagined myself before our Heavenly Father. Since I did not know what God the Father was really like, I simply imagined Him as a bright sun as stated in Habakkuk 3:4:
His splendor was like the sunrise.
While in this state, the throne of God in heaven became so real. I saw myself prostrate before the throne of God and worshiping him. Furthermore, I began to feel continuous rays of God’s power emanating from the throne of God into my body and soul. I was completely carried away to heaven, though my body was still on earth.
Clapping in church brought me back to earth.
I don’t know how long I was in heaven, but I think it was more than ten minutes. Then, as I continued to worship, there was a noise in our church. I think the congregation was applauding when my spirit suddenly left heaven and was returned to my body in church!
The powerful presence of God’s anointing.
As soon as my spirit returned to my body, I felt the powerful presence of the Holy Spirit. God’s presence was surging within my body and I wanted to shout “Hallelujah.”
I felt like running to the pulpit to pray for the entire congregation so that they would experience the same anointing. Furthermore, I wanted to prostrate myself on the floor of the church and start worshiping God. In all this, the fear of man stopped me. Interestingly, as I write this article, I feel the return of the same anointing that I experienced in that unusual supernatural event.
