Dear reader, one does not remain the same when chosen for a divine mission. Seven things happen when God chooses you.
God will protect you in a special way.
To begin with, when God selects an individual for a specific purpose, divine protection becomes an absolute guarantee. When God sets someone apart, He shields them from seen and unseen dangers to ensure they live long enough to fulfill their destiny.
Someone in your family will realise it.
Second, a family member will notice that God has cjosen you. While Joseph’s brothers reacted with jealousy and rejected his calling, his father, Jacob, kept the matter in mind and understood that God had a special purpose for Joseph.
God will train you to be a patient person.
When God sets His hand upon an individual for a specific purpose, His immediate priority is rarely the destination. It is the preparation. Divine election is always followed by a season of intense formation. At the absolute core of this spiritual development is the cultivation of patience.
God will talk to you in dreams.
Furthermore, when God chooses an individual for a special purpose, He often bypasses the conscious mind and communicates through the quiet realm of dreams.
God will train you to seek him.
David was anointed to be the future king of Israel as a young teenager. Instead of moving straight to a throne, David spent years running for his life from a jealous King Saul, hiding in caves and the Desert of Ziph. In those desperate moments of isolation, David wrote many of his Psalms. He discovered that God was his true fortress and rock. The hardship trained his character, teaching him to seek divine counsel before making any decision.
God will anoint you with the Holy Spirit.
When God chooses a person for a specific purpose, God also pours out the Holy Spirit to empower and equip them. God told the prophet Samuel to pour oil on David. That oil was a physical sign. The moment David was chosen, the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him.
God will train you to forgive.
When God chooses you, He will inevitably train you to forgive, because the weight of resentment cannot coexist with the magnitude of a divine assignment.
God will guide you to the right church.
When God chooses a person, God provides divine direction to lead that believer to the right church. You will find an environment to serve others and display God’s glory.
