Dear reader, you may not believe this, but it actually happened to me. The visiting preacher pointed at me and said, “You, man, God is calling you to serve Him!”
I was in a state of spiritual confusion.
Many years ago, when I was still young in the Christian faith, I deeply desired to serve God with all my heart. Sadly, I found myself in a state of confusion, with no one to help me. In fact, God had called me to serve Him in a special way, yet I harbored many doubts regarding that calling.
That Sunday, I sat at the back of the congregation.
Since I had many doubts about my calling to serve God, I decided that Sunday to sit right at the back of the congregation. There were about thirty rows of seats between my seat and the pulpit. “Perhaps God doesn’t care about my desire to serve Him,” I thought to myself.
Then a guest preacher arrived.
Unlike other Sundays, when our pastor usually preached, that Sunday we had a guest preacher. I had never had the opportunity to hear this man preach, so I was eager to listen to him.Furthermore, this preacher never knew me. While preaching, he suddenly paused and looked toward the back of the congregation, where I was sitting. Then he pointed in my direction and said,
“You, sir: God is calling you to serve Him, but you have many doubts about your calling.”
Since I was sitting far from the pulpit, I thought the preacher was addressing the person next to me; but, in reality, he was speaking to me. In fact, he went on to describe my appearance and said,
“This message is for you, sir.”
Then he continued:
“The Lord has entrusted you with a task, but you underestimate yourself. God says you can accomplish this work. He says you know what you must do; therefore, move forward and fulfill the task He has assigned to you. I see you with a pen writing, and writing, and writing. It seems the ministry God has assigned to you is related to writing. Please move forward with power and do God’s work.”
This prophecy maked the beginning of this writing ministry.
