Dear reader, there comes a time when a Christian no longer listens to God’s corrections. This sign shows that God has surrendered you to Satan.

The Spirit of God was always correcting you.

Initially when you sinned, the Spirit of God always convicted you and led you to repent. Then you asked for God’s forgiveness and He brought you back into the path to heaven.

Listen to what the written word in the Bible says:

 

⁵ And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,

“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, ⁶ because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”^[a]

 

Hebrews 12:5-6

 

When you no longer respond to God’s rebukes.

Time comes when some Christians no longer listen to the conviction of the Holy Spirit. They no longer see the need to repent. At this point God has given up on such Christians. This means that Heavenly Father has already handed over such Christians to Satan.

Listen to what God’s word in the Bible says:

 

Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.

 

John 8:47

 

Return to God.

Therefore, if you do not want to perish in the eternal fire of hell, you must repent of your rebellion and all your sins. If you do this, our Heavenly Father will restore you and put you on the path to heaven.

God restored the people of Nineveh.

In fact, the sinful people of the great city of Nineveh were headed for destruction. God had already handed them over to Satan. Then they listened to God’s message through prophet Jonah and they repented of their sins.

This pleased God very much and hear what happened:

 

When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened.
