Your Home is a protected Sanctuary

Inside many households, consistent prayer, reading scripture, and worship establish a sense of divine refuge. Believers often consecrate their doorposts, dedicate their rooms, and ask for heavenly peace to fill the environment. Within these walls, prayer acts as a spiritual wall or boundary that keeps out fear and discord.

The World outside is a Spiritual Battlefield

The moment a person walks out the front door, the calm of the sanctuary gives way to the open environment of the world. Christian traditions teach that invisible forces, temptations, and spiritual challenges target individuals outside the safety of their homes. Daily interactions, cultural pressures, and sudden trials are viewed as part of an ongoing spiritual struggle.

Pray Before Stepping Out

To face the challenges of the outside world, you have to look to specific spiritual practices for daily defense:

First, you need to apply the Blood of Jesus. Applying the symbolic covering of Christ’s sacrifice is a powerful shield against spiritual attacks.

Repent of your sins.

Confessing and turning away from personal mistakes or wrongdoing keeps the conscience clear and closes open doors to guilt or fear.

Repent for the sins of your parents and ancestors.

Satan, demons, and witches may use the sins of your parents and your ancestors to attack you and your family. Therefore, it is necessary that you repent of the known and unknown sins of your lineage. This repentance closes the doors Satan and demons were using to attack you.

Put on the armor of God.

Before leaving home wear the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace, the Shield of Faith, the Helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit.
