Dear reader, you may not believe what I am about to tell you, but it actually happened to me. One night I got a scary dream in which I was stabbed in my chest. I woke up abruptly worried with many questions on my mind.
“What does this dream mean?” I asked myself.
“Am I going to be stabbed today?” I kept thinking.
And many more questions followed.
Finally I went back to sleep without praying.
God wanted me to pray for someone.
The truth was that God wanted me to intercede for someone at my place of work who was about to be stabbed in the next few hours. As I didn’t intercede, this person ended up being stabbed in the chest and he died.
If I had prayed for this person, and interceded for him, God would have saved this man’s life.
In this article I show you that something supernatural happens when you intercede for someone.
Your prayer will put heaven into action.
When you intercede for someone, all heaven is alerted and put into action.. God our Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit will be concerned about your prayer, and they will respond accordingly.
Your prayer will activate God’s angels.
Angels are put into action when you intercede for someone. After Peter was arrested and imprisoned by Herod, the church started interceding for him (see Acts 12:5). As they continued interceding something supernatural happened. Listen to what happened:
The night before Herod was to bring him to trial,
Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains,
and sentries stood guard at the entrance.
Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell.
He struck Peter on the side and woke him up.
“Quick, get up!” he said,
and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists.
Acts 12:6-7
Your prayer will bring about deliverance.
Isaac interceded daily with tears for his wife who had no child, and his intercession brought about deliverance. Listen to what happened next:
Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife,
because she was childless.
The Lord answered his prayer,
and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.
Genesis 25:21
Your prayer will bring healing.
In Genesis chapter 20 Abimelek suffered greatly and fell ill because he offended God by wanting to sleep with Abraham’s wife, Sarah.
Later Abraham interceded for Abimelek, and something happened.
Hear what happened next.
Then Abraham prayed to God,
and God healed Abimelek,
his wife and his female slaves so they could have children again.
Genesis 20:17
Repentance.
Your intercession can cause someone to repent and turn away from their sinful ways.
Your intercession can prevent death.
If someone is about to die and you intercede for that person, God can prevent the death of that person.
Someone can be saved from perishing into hell.
Your intercession can save the soul of someone from perishing into hell.
