Sexual Lust can Steal all Your Heavenly Blessings

Dear reader, no other sin on earth has robbed Christians of their earthly and heavenly treasures like uncontrolled sexual desire. The truth is that sexual lust can rob you of all your heavenly blessings.

Sexual lust is a great sin.

To begin with, it is a great sin before our Heavenly Father when your emotions manifest sexual lust. In addition, listen to what our Lord Jesus Christ said about this matter (see Mathew 5:27-28):

 

 

You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’; ²⁸ but I say to you that everyone who [so much as] looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

 

 

Heaven stores most of your riches and blessings.

 

 

As a matter of fact, for any Christian still living on earth, more than 90 per cent of their spiritual riches and blessings are stored in heaven. Our Heavenly Father releases these blessings according to his appointed time and in response to the way that Christian lives on earth.

Listen to what our God says in Deuteronomy 30:16:

 

For I command you today to love the Lord your God.  To walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws. Then you will live and increase. And the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.

 

Sexual lust opens the door for Satan.

 

 

 

 

Furthermore, our Heavenly Father keeps on releasing heavenly blessings according to your response to God’s Kingdom. Living a holy life pleases God and closes all the doors Satan would have used to steal your heavenly riches and blessings.

On the contrary, sexual lust displeases God our Heavenly Father and opens the door for demons to steal your heavenly blessings.

 

Flee from sexual lust.

Finally, here is our Lord Jesus Christ’s advice to us regarding sexual lust (see 1 Corinthians 6:18-20):

 

Run away from sexual immorality [in any form, whether thought or behavior, whether visual or written]. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the one who is sexually immoral sins against his own body. ¹⁹ Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]? ²⁰ You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honor and glorify God with your body.
