Dear reader, there is something God wants you to know about unforgiveness. Refusing to forgive will lock you in Satan’s prison.

God will not forgive you if you refuse to forgive.

In Matthew 6:14-15, Jesus states that if you don’t forgive others when they hurt you, God won’t forgive your sins either. God expects those who have received mercy to show mercy to others. Holding a grudge and refusing to let go creates a barrier in your relationship with God. This idea also appears in the Lord’s Prayer when we ask God to forgive our sins, just as we forgive those who have sinned against us. Therefore, when you refuse to forgive, you become a prisoner of Satan’s kingdom.

Refusing to forgive will open the door for demons to attack you.

Holding on to unforgiveness is a severe hindrance. Many Christians are under demonic oppression without realizing it, because they refuse to forgive others who have offended them. Holding on to unforgiveness keeps an open door to the Satan and demons hinders our spiritual walk with Jesus Christ.

You will become a prisoner of Satan.

First, refusing to forgive opens the door to the demons of anger and resentment. Holding onto negative feelings will keep your emotional wounds open. Second, you will have no peace. Bitterness will consume your attention and diminish your joy. Third, you will lose courage and integrity. Fourth, unforgiveness generates chronic stress. Constant hostility keeps your body in a state of heightened stress. Furthermore, refusing to forgive carries health risks. Prolonged resentment is linked to various illnesses such as hypertension and heart problems. Likewise, unresolved conflicts damage trust and create distance from others. Ultimately, holding a grudge creates a barrier between you and divine grace. You will always be in Satan’s prison.

The weapon to stop Satan is actually found in Luke 11:4
