Your last thoughts matter
Dear reader what were your last thoughts just before you slept? Your last thoughts matter because if they glorify God, He will use them to promote His Kingdom using your life. If they glorify Satan the Devil will use them to create nightmares that will disorganize your life.
The example of Daniel
Daniel had a very good practice. He always went to sleep after prayer and slept while meditating on God’s mercies. Because of this meditation, God always interacted with him a lot through dreams. This is clearly illustrated when he and his two friends were faced with the mystery of King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream:
‘Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 18 He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. 19 During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven 20 and said:
“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
wisdom and power are his.
21 He changes times and seasons;
he deposes kings and raises up others.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the discerning.
22 He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him.
23 I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors:
You have given me wisdom and power,
you have made known to me what we asked of you,
you have made known to us the dream of the king.” (Daniel 2:17-23).
How to get the best thoughts before sleep.
The best way of getting best thoughts as you sleep is to pray before going to bed and secondly to meditate on God’s Word as written in the Bible. You will discover that as you meditate on God’s Word, a holy sleep will come quickly and take over your spirit and soul. This will enable God to interact with you during your sleep.
Bad thoughts
Bad or unholy thoughts will only work to please Satan and demons. Evil forces will use these unholy thoughts to cause nightmares in your life. As you go to sleep, always stay focused on God, Heaven, and God’s Word. God our Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and angels will gradually interact with you as you sleep.
