Dear reader, are you so sad because you’ve been forgotten? Thank God the person you helped has forgotten you.
Your real reward is in heaven.
First, you need to realise that our Heavenly Father has seen every person you helped and he is keeping your reward in heaven.
It is better to be remembered by God than by people.
Second, don’t struggle to be remembered by someone you helped. In fact, it is better to be remembered by God than people. Unlike people, when God remembers that you helped someone, his blessings upon your life and family will wipe away all the tears on your hearts.
God remembered Jonathan’s son.
For example, the poor boy Mephibosheth was lame in both feet and during his suffering he often reminded God how his father, Jonathan (the son of King Saul) helped save the life of King David. As a result, God remembered how Jonathan saved David’s life. Consequently, God reminded King David about Jonathan.
One morning something prompted King David to speak like this:
9 David asked, “Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”
2 Samuel 9:1
As a result of God’s remembrance, King David had Mephibosheth brought to his palace. David showed the poor boy kindness for the sake of his father Jonathan. Additionally, David restored to Mephibosheth all the land that belonged to King Saul. And from that day Mephibosheth always ate at David’s dining table (see 2 Samuel 9:1-12) .
Don’t curse the person you helped.
If the people you helped have forgotten you, don’t curse them. If you curse them, they could be attacked by Satan and demons, and they will no longer be of help to you. Therefore, bless them instead of cursing them.
What our Lord Jesus Christ said about this matter.
Finally, our Lord Jesus Christ had a lot to say about this matter. Listen to what he said in Luke 14:12-14:
12 Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. 13 But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
