Only Jesus Christ can bring peace to your mind

Wealth.

Even if you got all the riches of this world, you will never get the peace you desire. In fact, wealth will give you a more troubled mind because many will try to get their share from the wealth you have toiled for.

Love.

Look what love did to King Solomon. In search of love, King Solomon enticed many local and foreign women. He had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines but, ultimately, they never brought him the peace of mind he wanted.

Wisdom and academic achievements.

King Solomon had more wisdom and intelect than any other person on earth. God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore. Solomon’s wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the people of the East, and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.

He spoke three thousand proverbs and his songs numbered a thousand and five. He spoke about plant life, from the cedar of Lebanon to the hyssop that grows out of walls. He also spoke about animals and birds, reptiles and fish. From all nations people came to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, sent by all the kings of the world, who had heard of his wisdom.^[e]

Finally, as he was about to die, Solomon realized that wisdom and intellect were useless.

Listen to what he said:

Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher.

“Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.

Ecclesiastes 1:1-2

Fame

Once you become famous, it will take you a lot of money, sleepless nights, and self control, to maintain that fame. Finally, you will give up and settle for becoming an ordinary person again.

Authority

Just like fame, acquiring immense authority and power will give you more trouble than peace because everyone will be looking up to you as a standard to be emulated. Moreover, many will fight to bring you down.

Only Jesus Christ can bring you peace.

This is what Jesus Christ said:

Peace I leave with you;

my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.

Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27

Only Jesus Christ can bring peace to your mind.
